Serving San Diego and Surrounding Areas
San Diego sits right on the Pacific coast, but the city spreads across mesas and canyons and the weather changes over short distances. Within a few miles of the water the marine layer keeps the air cool and damp, which is easy on cooling bills but hard on outdoor units that live in salt air. Head 5 to 10 miles inland and afternoons run warmer with bigger swings between day and night. CrossBreeze is based in Mira Mesa, and downtown is about 21 minutes from the shop.
CrossBreeze is a Mira Mesa company. Eddie's shop is on Flanders Dr, and Scripps Ranch, Rancho Penasquitos and Rancho Bernardo are the next communities over. South of Miramar, Clairemont, Kearny Mesa and Tierrasanta get the same attention. Across all of these Eddie handles AC Repair, AC Installation & Replacement, Furnace & Heating Repair and HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups. Winters here are mild, so a Heat Pump Installation covers heating and cooling in one unit and makes sense for a lot of homes. Mini Split Installation fits a room that never got ductwork, and Ducting & Zoning helps a house that is hot on one side and cold on the other. A visit is simple. Eddie comes out, looks at what you have, and gives you a straight number before any work starts. Kababayan across Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch and Rancho Penasquitos call CrossBreeze, and everyone is welcome. CSLB #1055889, 5.0 stars on 26 Google reviews.

AC Repair
San Diego spreads across mesas and canyons and the weather changes over short distances, so the same model of air conditioner wears differently depending on which mesa it sits on. Within a few miles of the water salt air works on the outdoor unit. Five to ten miles inland it is run hours that wear it out. Eddie Layola founded CrossBreeze in 2018 and does the diagnosis himself, so the person telling you what failed is the person who has to stand behind the fix. A straight number before any repair starts, and nothing quoted over the phone.

Mini Split Installation
A ductless mini split needs no ductwork at all, which is why it answers so much of what San Diego housing throws up: a converted garage, an ADU, a canyon side addition, or the one room the original ducting never reached. Each head is its own zone, so you are not conditioning the whole house to fix one room. Eddie surveys the room himself before anyone quotes a head, because sizing matters more here than brand does.

AC Installation & Replacement
Sizing a system for San Diego means knowing where in San Diego. A house under the marine layer and a house ten miles inland with big day to night swings do not need the same equipment, and matching whatever was there before just repeats the original mistake. We size off the house. Eddie walks the ducting, the insulation and the panel before anything is ordered, and gives a straight number. Financing runs 2.99% through Housecall Pro, or 50% down over one to three years.

Furnace & Heating Repair
San Diego winters are mild, so a furnace here sits unused most of the year and that is exactly why it fails on the first cold night. The usual faults are a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch, or a filter clogged after months of standing still. A cracked heat exchanger gets treated as a carbon monoxide question rather than a patch job. Eddie looks at the system before he gives a number.

HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups
Seasonal tune ups that catch the cheap problem before it becomes the expensive one.

Whole House Fan
San Diego runs from cool damp air under the marine layer near the water to warmer afternoons 5 to 10 miles inland with bigger swings between day and night. A whole house fan is built for that swing. It is not air conditioning and it does not replace it.

Heat Pump Installation
San Diego winters are mild, which is exactly the climate a heat pump is best suited to. One system heats and cools, so there is no separate furnace to maintain or replace later, and it is sized for the cooling load first then checked against the heating requirement. It gets a dedicated circuit, breaker and disconnect, so Eddie looks at the electrical panel before quoting. CrossBreeze has been installing them since 2018.

Attic Fan Installation
Attic fans that stop your roof from radiating the afternoon back down into the house.

Ducting & Zoning
Duct installation, re-ducting and zoning for houses where some rooms never get comfortable.

Every review CrossBreeze has earned on Google is a five star review. Here are a few of them.
Honesty is the first thing that one expects from any professional offering their services and cost comes second. I had Eddie come for an estimate and before even he could give me one he pointed a glaring technical potential disastrous gas pipe to the furnace by the builder which no other service technician EVER pointed out. That goes to show how professionally sound he is. Another company after inspection told me that one of the dampers didn't work so I discussed it with Eddie as well. He spent time investigating that and told me that was NOT the case and dampers were fine. Honesty!!! is very big with us.

"I highly recommend Eddie and Crossbreeze Heating & Air. He came highly recommended by my plumber and wow, when our minisplits went out, he responded promptly and came right away to assess the situation. He was professional, timely, considerate, honest, and simply wonderful. Our other AC went out on the day he arrived and he took care of that as well all within the time frame he quoted us. His work was very good and he cleaned everything up leaving things tidy."

"So hard to find good contractors these days but Eddie and his team definitely delivers. Great pricing, excellent work and a real pleasure to work with. I had a new A/C installation and replacement of heater and ducting. He came out made suggestions, provided an estimate with install date and everything was completed exactly as promised. They showed up on time, were very friendly, professional, quick, and clean."

How do I get a quote in San Diego?
Call 760-715-0523 or send a message and Eddie comes out to look at what you have. CrossBreeze does not quote a price sight unseen, because the right number depends on the size of the system your home needs and the shape your ducting is in. You get a straight number before any work starts.

Yes. Financing is available at 2.99% through Housecall Pro, or you can put 50% down and take one to three years to pay the rest.

AC Repair, Mini Split Installation, AC Installation & Replacement, Furnace & Heating Repair, HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups, Whole House Fan, Heat Pump Installation, Attic Fan Installation, Ducting & Zoning. Does living near the coast change what system I should get?
It can. Within a few miles of the water the marine layer often keeps homes cool and damp and salt air is hard on outdoor units, so maintenance matters as much as size. Farther inland afternoons run warmer and a properly sized AC or heat pump earns its keep. Eddie looks at the house before he recommends anything, and he does not quote a price sight unseen.
