Serving Scripps Ranch and Surrounding Areas
Scripps Ranch is inland, about 9 miles from the coast, east of Interstate 15 and north of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. That far from the water the ocean air does not do much for you, so the AC carries more of the load through summer and a system that is not keeping up gets noticed fast. Miramar Reservoir sits inside the community, and the mature eucalyptus along Pomerado Road are what most people picture. CrossBreeze is no more than about 27 minutes away by road from the shop in Mira Mesa next door.
CrossBreeze works throughout Scripps Ranch, from Miramar Ranch North to Scripps Miramar Ranch and the homes near Miramar Reservoir. Out here AC repair and AC installation and replacement are the most common calls, and ducting and zoning helps larger homes cool evenly instead of leaving one end warm. Whole house fans and attic fans pull heat out of the house in the evening so the AC does not have to run all night. A heat pump handles heating and cooling in one system, and for a lot of homes that is the right fit. We also do furnace and heating repair, mini split installation, and HVAC maintenance and tune ups. When you call, Eddie comes out, looks at what you have, and gives you a straight number before any work starts. Kababayan in Scripps Ranch are welcome to call, and so is everyone else. AC Repair
Scripps Ranch sits about 9 miles inland, east of Interstate 15 and north of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. That far from the water the ocean air does not do the cooling for you, so the air conditioner carries more of the load through summer and a system that is not keeping up gets noticed fast. Eddie does the diagnosis himself, so the person telling you what went wrong is the person who has to stand behind the fix. Nothing is quoted over the phone. He looks at the equipment first, then gives you a straight number before any repair starts.

Mini Split Installation
A ductless mini split is a heating and cooling system that mounts on the wall and connects to an outdoor unit through a small line set, so it needs no ductwork at all. That makes it the usual answer for a converted garage, an ADU, a bonus room over the garage, or a room an addition left off the duct system. Each head is its own zone, so you are not conditioning the whole house to fix one warm room, which counts for more in Scripps Ranch where the AC already carries more of the load through summer. Eddie does the room survey himself before anyone quotes a head.

AC Installation & Replacement
Sizing is the part that gets skipped. An oversized system short cycles and wears itself out early, so we size off the house instead of matching whatever was there before. That matters more in Scripps Ranch than it does near the coast, because the AC carries more of the load through summer out here and a system sized wrong shows it in the middle of summer. Eddie walks the house first, square footage, ducting, insulation, windows and how you actually use the place, then gives you a straight number before anything is ordered.

Furnace & Heating Repair
A Scripps Ranch furnace sits unused most of the year, which is exactly why it fails on the first cold night. Usually the fault is a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch or a filter clogged after months of standing still, and those are the first things we check, in that order. Eddie watches the system try to start before he gives a number, so nothing gets quoted over the phone. If the honest answer is that the system is past repairing, you hear that too.

HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups
Seasonal tune ups that catch the cheap problem before it becomes the expensive one.

Whole House Fan
A whole house fan is a ceiling mounted fan that pulls cool outside air in through open windows and pushes the hot air trapped in the house out through the attic vents. It is not air conditioning and it does not replace it. Scripps Ranch is about 9 miles from the coast, so the house holds the afternoon heat well after the outside air has dropped, and the fan is what trades one for the other. Sizing goes by the airflow the house needs rather than by room count, and the attic has to have enough vent area to exhaust it, so Eddie looks at the attic before any of it gets quoted.

Attic Fan Installation
Attic fans that stop your roof from radiating the afternoon back down into the house.

Every review CrossBreeze has earned on Google is a five star review. Here are a few of them.
Honesty is the first thing that one expects from any professional offering their services and cost comes second. I had Eddie come for an estimate and before even he could give me one he pointed a glaring technical potential disastrous gas pipe to the furnace by the builder which no other service technician EVER pointed out. That goes to show how professionally sound he is. Another company after inspection told me that one of the dampers didn't work so I discussed it with Eddie as well. He spent time investigating that and told me that was NOT the case and dampers were fine. Honesty!!! is very big with us.

"I highly recommend Eddie and Crossbreeze Heating & Air. He came highly recommended by my plumber and wow, when our minisplits went out, he responded promptly and came right away to assess the situation. He was professional, timely, considerate, honest, and simply wonderful. Our other AC went out on the day he arrived and he took care of that as well all within the time frame he quoted us. His work was very good and he cleaned everything up leaving things tidy."

I had a new A/C installation and replacement of heater and ducting. He came out made suggestions, provided an estimate with install date and everything was completed exactly as promised. They showed up on time, were very friendly, professional, quick, and clean."

How do you make sure a new AC system is sized right?
