Serving Poway and Surrounding Areas
Poway sits inland, east of the city of San Diego at 515 feet and about 13 miles from the coast. The summers run hot and the winters are cool and wet, so the air conditioner works hard all summer and the furnace or heat pump has to carry the winter. Most of Poway is owner occupied, 75.1 percent at the 2020 census, and a lot of those homes go back to the tracts that went up from 1957 on. We are about 16 minutes away, over in Mira Mesa.
We work all over Poway, by Old Poway Park, near Lake Poway and Twin Peaks, by Poway Community Park, and out by Sycamore Canyon Preserve. Scripps Ranch and Rancho Penasquitos are close by, so Poway is a short hop for us. Inland heat is hard on equipment, so AC Repair and AC Installation & Replacement are what a Poway summer calls for, along with HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups before the hot months. Older tract homes are where Ducting & Zoning and Furnace & Heating Repair come up, and a Whole House Fan or Attic Fan Installation pulls the day's heat out of the house in the evening. Heat Pump Installation fits Poway's cool wet winters too. When you call, Eddie comes out, looks at what you actually have, and gives you a straight number before any work starts. We do not quote sight unseen. CrossBreeze is C20 licensed, CSLB #1055889, with a 5.0 rating on 26 Google reviews.

Our Services in Poway
From a tune up to a full changeout, heating and cooling for Poway homes.

AC Repair
Poway sits inland at 515 feet, about 13 miles from the coast, and the summers run hot, so the air conditioning here works harder and for longer than it does nearer the water. A lot of the housing goes back to the tracts that went up from 1957 on, so the equipment has age on it as well. Eddie does the diagnosis himself and gives you a straight number before any repair starts. We do not quote sight unseen.

Mini Split Installation
A ductless mini split mounts on the wall and connects to an outdoor unit through a small line set, so it needs no ductwork at all. In the older Poway tracts that is the clean answer for a converted garage, a bonus room or the back bedroom the original ducting never reached. Each head is its own zone, so you are not cooling the whole house to fix one room. Eddie surveys the room himself before anyone quotes a head.

AC Installation & Replacement
Inland heat is what a Poway replacement has to be sized for. The house runs hot all summer at 515 feet and then wants real heating through a cool wet winter, so the system has to carry both. Sizing off the old unit just repeats whatever was wrong the first time, and an oversized system short cycles and wears itself out early. Eddie looks at the house and the ductwork before anything is ordered. Financing runs 2.99% through Housecall Pro, or 50% down over one to three years.

Furnace & Heating Repair
Poway winters are cool and wet, so unlike most of the county the heating here actually gets used and a furnace fault shows up as a cold house rather than an inconvenience. The usual faults are a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch, or a filter clogged after a long idle summer. In the older tracts the ducting gets checked in the same visit. A cracked heat exchanger gets treated as a carbon monoxide question rather than a patch job.

HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups
Seasonal tune ups that catch the cheap problem before it becomes the expensive one.

Whole House Fan
A lot of Poway homes trace to the tracts that went up from 1957 on. A whole house fan is a ceiling mounted fan that pulls cool outside air in through open windows and pushes the trapped hot air out through the attic vents, and the attic has to have enough vent area to exhaust it.

Heat Pump Installation
One system that heats and cools, and suits San Diego's mild winters unusually well.

Attic Fan Installation
Poway sits inland at 515 feet and the summers run hot, so an attic fan pulls the day's heat out of the roof space in the evening. We are about 16 minutes away in Mira Mesa.

Ducting & Zoning
Duct installation, re-ducting and zoning for houses where some rooms never get comfortable.

Every review CrossBreeze has earned on Google is a five star review. Here are a few of them.
Honesty is the first thing that one expects from any professional offering their services and cost comes second. I had Eddie come for an estimate and before even he could give me one he pointed a glaring technical potential disastrous gas pipe to the furnace by the builder which no other service technician EVER pointed out. That goes to show how professionally sound he is. Another company after inspection told me that one of the dampers didn't work so I discussed it with Eddie as well. He spent time investigating that and told me that was NOT the case and dampers were fine. Honesty!!! is very big with us.

"I highly recommend Eddie and Crossbreeze Heating & Air. He came highly recommended by my plumber and wow, when our minisplits went out, he responded promptly and came right away to assess the situation. He was professional, timely, considerate, honest, and simply wonderful. Our other AC went out on the day he arrived and he took care of that as well all within the time frame he quoted us. His work was very good and he cleaned everything up leaving things tidy."

"So hard to find good contractors these days but Eddie and his team definitely delivers. Great pricing, excellent work and a real pleasure to work with. I had a new A/C installation and replacement of heater and ducting. He came out made suggestions, provided an estimate with install date and everything was completed exactly as promised. They showed up on time, were very friendly, professional, quick, and clean."
