Heating & Air Conditioning in Chula Vista, CA

Chula Vista runs from San Diego Bay up to the foothills of the Jamul and San Ysidro Mountains, so where your house sits in it matters for how it heats and cools.

Serving Chula Vista and Surrounding Areas

Chula Vista sits in the South Bay, a few miles from San Diego Bay, and the city runs east from the bay toward the foothills of the Jamul and San Ysidro Mountains. The climate is semi-arid. The planned communities of Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Rancho del Rey and Millenia went up east of Interstate 805 starting in the late 1980s, and the original part of town west of Hilltop Drive is older. Outdoor units closer to the bay see more salt air. CrossBreeze is based in Mira Mesa, about 30 minutes away.

In Chula Vista, CrossBreeze works the planned communities of Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Rancho del Rey and Millenia east of Interstate 805, as well as Montgomery and Castle Park, both annexed in the mid 1980s. Out east the homes date from the late 1980s on, so the common calls are AC Repair, HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups, and AC Installation & Replacement when the original unit wears out. In the original part of town west of Hilltop Drive the homes are older, and Mini Split Installation fits a room the ductwork never reached while Ducting & Zoning sorts out a house that heats unevenly. The climate is semi-arid, and Heat Pump Installation covers heating and cooling with one system. Eddie comes out, looks at what you have, and gives a straight number before any work starts. Financing runs 2.99% through Housecall Pro or 50% down over one to three years. Kababayan in Chula Vista call CrossBreeze, and everyone is welcome. CSLB #1055889, 5.0 stars on 26 Google reviews.

CrossBreeze tech running an insulation resistance test on an AC condenser in San Diego

AC Repair

The planned communities east of Interstate 805, Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Rancho del Rey and Millenia, went up from the late 1980s on, so a lot of the original equipment out there is now old enough to fail. Closer to San Diego Bay the salt air works on the outdoor unit as well. Eddie does the diagnosis himself and gives you a straight number before any repair starts. Nothing is quoted over the phone.

Mini Split Installation

In the original part of Chula Vista west of Hilltop Drive the homes are older and plenty of them have a room the ductwork never reached. A ductless mini split needs no ductwork at all, so it is the usual answer there, and in the newer tracts it handles a converted garage or an ADU. Each head is its own zone. Eddie surveys the room himself before anyone quotes a head.

AC Installation & Replacement

Chula Vista runs semi-arid and stretches from the bay up toward the foothills of the Jamul and San Ysidro Mountains, so where the house sits changes how much cooling it actually needs. Sizing off the old unit repeats whatever mistake was made the first time. We size off the house. Eddie looks at what you have and gives a straight number before anything is ordered. Financing runs 2.99% through Housecall Pro, or 50% down over one to three years.

CrossBreeze tech replacing a furnace hot surface igniter during a repair call

Furnace & Heating Repair

San Diego furnaces sit unused most of the year, which is exactly why they fail on the first cold night. The usual faults are a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch, or a filter clogged after months of standing still, and those are the first things we check. A cracked heat exchanger gets treated as a carbon monoxide question rather than a patch job. Eddie looks at the system before he gives a number.

Whole House Fan

A whole house fan is a ceiling mounted fan that pulls cool outside air in through open windows and pushes the hot air trapped in the house out through the attic vents. It is not air conditioning and it does not replace it. Chula Vista is semi-arid and the eastern tracts run warmer than the bay side, so the evening air is usually cooler than the air the house has been holding. The attic has to have enough vent area to exhaust it, so Eddie looks at the attic before anything is quoted.

What Your Neighbors Say About Eddie

Every review CrossBreeze has earned on Google is a five star review. Here are a few of them.

Honesty is the first thing that one expects from any professional offering their services and cost comes second. I had Eddie come for an estimate and before even he could give me one he pointed a glaring technical potential disastrous gas pipe to the furnace by the builder which no other service technician EVER pointed out. That goes to show how professionally sound he is. Another company after inspection told me that one of the dampers didn't work so I discussed it with Eddie as well. He spent time investigating that and told me that was NOT the case and dampers were fine. Honesty!!! is very big with us.

"I highly recommend Eddie and Crossbreeze Heating & Air. He came highly recommended by my plumber and wow, when our minisplits went out, he responded promptly and came right away to assess the situation. He was professional, timely, considerate, honest, and simply wonderful. Our other AC went out on the day he arrived and he took care of that as well all within the time frame he quoted us. His work was very good and he cleaned everything up leaving things tidy."
