Heating & Air Conditioning in La Mesa, CA

La Mesa sits about 10 miles east of the Pacific, far enough that summer afternoons run hotter here than they do in the parts of San Diego closer to the water.

Serving La Mesa and Surrounding Areas

La Mesa is inland, roughly 10 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, and that gap shows up on the thermostat. Summers are hot and dry and the temperatures swing further than they do in the parts of San Diego closer to the coast, so an air conditioner works harder through the afternoon. Winters stay warm, which is what makes a heat pump a sensible fit here. The 2020 census counted 26,063 housing units here, just under half owner-occupied. CrossBreeze Heating & Air is based in Mira Mesa, about 21 minutes away.

We work in Grossmont, La Mesa Village and Downtown La Mesa, and across the rest of the city. In a hot, dry summer climate most of the calls are AC Repair, AC Installation & Replacement, and HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups before the heat arrives. Because winters here are warm, a Heat Pump Installation covers both seasons with one system. Furnace & Heating Repair, Whole House Fan, Attic Fan Installation and Ducting & Zoning round it out. More than half of the occupied homes in La Mesa are rentals, so we work with owners and landlords alike. A visit is simple. Eddie comes out, looks at what you have, and gives you a straight number before any work starts. We do not quote a price sight unseen. CrossBreeze holds a C20 license, CSLB #1055889, and has a 5.0 rating on 26 Google reviews.

What Your Neighbors Say About Eddie

Every review CrossBreeze has earned on Google is a five star review. Here are a few of them.

Honesty is the first thing that one expects from any professional offering their services and cost comes second. I had Eddie come for an estimate and before even he could give me one he pointed a glaring technical potential disastrous gas pipe to the furnace by the builder which no other service technician EVER pointed out. That goes to show how professionally sound he is. Another company after inspection told me that one of the dampers didn't work so I discussed it with Eddie as well. He spent time investigating that and told me that was NOT the case and dampers were fine. Honesty!!! is very big with us.

"I highly recommend Eddie and Crossbreeze Heating & Air. He came highly recommended by my plumber and wow, when our minisplits went out, he responded promptly and came right away to assess the situation. He was professional, timely, considerate, honest, and simply wonderful. Our other AC went out on the day he arrived and he took care of that as well all within the time frame he quoted us. His work was very good and he cleaned everything up leaving things tidy."

"So hard to find good contractors these days but Eddie and his team definitely delivers. Great pricing, excellent work and a real pleasure to work with. I had a new A/C installation and replacement of heater and ducting. He came out made suggestions, provided an estimate with install date and everything was completed exactly as promised. They showed up on time, were very friendly, professional, quick, and clean."

How far is CrossBreeze from La Mesa?

Our shop is at 9014 Flanders Dr in Mira Mesa, San Diego, and La Mesa is about 21 minutes away in normal traffic. We schedule La Mesa calls with that drive in mind, so the time we give you is the time we mean.

When can I reach you for a La Mesa service call?

We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4pm. We are not a 24 hour emergency service, so if a system quits at midnight the honest answer is that we will see you in the morning, and we book same or next day where the schedule allows.

How do I get a quote in La Mesa?

Call 760-715-0523 or send a message and Eddie comes out to look at what you have. CrossBreeze does not quote a price sight unseen, because the right number depends on the size of the system your home needs and the shape your ducting is in. You get a straight number before any work starts.

Do you offer financing for La Mesa homeowners?

Yes. Financing is available at 2.99% through Housecall Pro, or you can put 50% down and take one to three years to pay the rest.

Does La Mesa's inland weather change what system I should get?

It can. La Mesa is about 10 miles from the Pacific and runs hotter in summer than coastal San Diego, with warm winters, so a heat pump often handles both seasons well and a properly sized AC matters more than it does near the beach.
