Serving Kearny Mesa and Surrounding Areas
Kearny Mesa sits in the central part of San Diego, bounded by State Route 52 to the north, Interstate 805 to the west, Aero Drive to the south and Interstate 15 to the east. As the name says, the area is mostly flat mesa. The climate is semi-arid, with mild winters and warm, almost rainless summers, and at about 7 miles from the water it sees less of the coastal damp than the communities right on the bay. CrossBreeze is about 13 minutes away in Mira Mesa.
CrossBreeze covers Kearny Mesa from the Convoy District across to the residential pockets at Stonecrest, Kearny Lodge and Royal Highlands, and on into the neighboring communities of Serra Mesa, Clairemont and Tierrasanta. Most of Kearny Mesa is commercial and industrial, so the work here splits between light commercial systems and the homes around them. The common calls are AC Repair, HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups, and AC Installation & Replacement when a unit is past saving. Mini Split Installation fits a suite, a converted space or a room the ductwork never reached, and Ducting & Zoning sorts out a building where one end never keeps up. Winters are mild, so Heat Pump Installation covers heating and cooling with one system, and Furnace & Heating Repair keeps an existing furnace going. Eddie comes out, looks at what you have, and gives a straight number before any work starts. CSLB #1055889, 5.0 stars on 26 Google reviews.

AC Repair
Most of Kearny Mesa is commercial and industrial, so a lot of what fails here is light commercial equipment rather than a house system, and it usually fails in the middle of a working day. Eddie does the diagnosis himself, which means the person telling you what broke is the person who has to stand behind the fix. You get a straight number before any repair starts, and nothing is quoted over the phone. We are open seven days a week and we are not a 24 hour service.

Mini Split Installation
A ductless mini split mounts on the wall and connects to an outdoor unit through a small line set, so it needs no ductwork at all. In Kearny Mesa that suits a converted suite off the Convoy District, a back office the original ducting never reached, and the homes at Stonecrest, Kearny Lodge and Royal Highlands where adding ducts is not worth the disruption. Each head is its own zone, so you are not conditioning the whole building to fix one room. Eddie surveys the space himself before anyone quotes a head.

AC Installation & Replacement
Kearny Mesa runs semi-arid, with mild winters and warm, almost rainless summers, so cooling capacity is what a replacement here has to get right. Sizing is the step that gets skipped. An oversized system short cycles and wears itself out early, so we size off the building instead of matching whatever was there before. Eddie looks at what you have and gives a straight number before anything is ordered. Financing runs 2.99% through Housecall Pro, or 50% down over one to three years.

Furnace & Heating Repair
Kearny Mesa winters are mild, so a furnace here sits unused most of the year and that is exactly why it fails on the first cold night. The usual faults are a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch, or a filter clogged after months of standing still, and those are the first things we check. A cracked heat exchanger gets treated as a carbon monoxide question rather than a patch job. Eddie looks at the system before he gives a number.

HVAC Maintenance & Tune Ups
Seasonal tune ups that catch the cheap problem before it becomes the expensive one.

Whole House Fan
A whole house fan is a ceiling mounted fan that pulls cool outside air in through open windows and pushes the hot air trapped in the house out through the attic vents. It is not air conditioning and it does not replace it. Kearny Mesa sits about 7 miles from the water and the summers are warm and almost rainless, so the evening air outside is usually cooler than the air a house has been holding since the afternoon. Sizing goes by the airflow the house needs, and the attic has to have enough vent area to exhaust it, so Eddie looks at the attic before anything is quoted.

Attic Fan Installation

Ducting & Zoning

Every review CrossBreeze has earned on Google is a five star review. Here are a few of them.
Honesty is the first thing that one expects from any professional offering their services and cost comes second. I had Eddie come for an estimate and before even he could give me one he pointed a glaring technical potential disastrous gas pipe to the furnace by the builder which no other service technician EVER pointed out. That goes to show how professionally sound he is. Another company after inspection told me that one of the dampers didn't work so I discussed it with Eddie as well. He spent time investigating that and told me that was NOT the case and dampers were fine. Honesty!!! is very big with us.

"I highly recommend Eddie and Crossbreeze Heating & Air. He came highly recommended by my plumber and wow, when our minisplits went out, he responded promptly and came right away to assess the situation. He was professional, timely, considerate, honest, and simply wonderful. Our other AC went out on the day he arrived and he took care of that as well all within the time frame he quoted us. His work was very good and he cleaned everything up leaving things tidy."

I had a new A/C installation and replacement of heater and ducting. He came out made suggestions, provided an estimate with install date and everything was completed exactly as promised. They showed up on time, were very friendly, professional, quick, and clean."

The attic has to have enough vent area to exhaust it, so Eddie looks at the attic before anything is quoted.
