# Furnace & Heating Repair | CrossBreeze Heating & Air

> Furnace and heating repair for the few weeks a year San Diego actually needs it. Call 760-715-0523.

Furnace repair is the diagnosis and correction of a heating system that will not ignite, will not stay lit, or blows air that never gets warm. San Diego furnaces sit unused for most of the year, which is exactly why they fail on the first cold night. Usually the fault is a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch or a filter clogged after months of standing still, and those are the first things we check. Eddie comes out and looks at the system before he gives a number, so nothing gets quoted over the phone. We take heating calls across San Diego, the South Bay and East County, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and weekends 9am to 4pm. We work on gas furnaces and heat pump heating, on Goodman, Trane, Carrier, Bryant, York and Mitsubishi equipment, and on systems we did not install. Heat exchanger problems we treat as a carbon monoxide question, because a cracked exchanger is not something to patch.

## Key Benefits
- No number until Eddie has seen the furnace run
- Flame sensor, igniter and pressure switch tested in order
- Heat exchanger issues explained as safety, not upsell
- Venting and combustion checked for carbon monoxide
- Gas furnaces and heat pump heating both covered

## Our Process
1. **Ignition sequence check**. We watch it try to start and see exactly where the sequence breaks.
2. **Component test**. Flame sensor, igniter, pressure switch, limit and blower checked in order.
3. **Safety inspection**. Heat exchanger and venting inspected before anything is signed off.
4. **Repair and cycle**. Fixed, then run through full cycles to confirm it stays lit.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Why did my furnace fail on the first cold night?
Because it sat unused for eight or nine months. San Diego furnaces almost always fail on first use, and the cause is usually a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, a stuck pressure switch or a filter that clogged while the system was standing still. Those are inexpensive parts and normally a same visit fix.

### My furnace blows but the air is never warm. What is that?
The blower is running while the burners are not lighting or not staying lit. That is typically an ignition fault, a flame sensor that has fouled, or a safety limit shutting the burners down. It is a diagnosis job, and it is usually not expensive.

### What happens if the heat exchanger is cracked?
We treat that as a safety issue and explain it plainly. A cracked heat exchanger is not something to patch, and we will tell you so rather than sell you a repair that leaves the problem in your house. We inspect the exchanger and the venting before signing anything off.

### Can you come out at night if the heat goes out?
No, and we would rather say that clearly than imply otherwise. We are not a 24 hour emergency service. Call during business hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm or Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4pm, and we will get to you.

### Is it worth repairing an old furnace in San Diego?
Often, yes, precisely because it runs so few hours a year here. A furnace that would be worn out in a cold climate can have plenty of life left in San Diego. We will give you the straight answer on repair against replace rather than defaulting to the bigger ticket.

### Which areas do you cover for furnace and heating repair?
All 23 communities we serve, worked out of Mira Mesa. That includes Rancho Penasquitos, Carmel Mountain, Scripps Ranch and Poway inland, where nights run colder and the furnace gets used more than it does at the coast. CrossBreeze is Filipino owned, licensed under CSLB #1055889 since 2019, and rated 5.0 from 26 Google reviews.
